Mustakivi (in German "Black Stone") is a district ( Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn . It is located in the Lasnamäe district (German "Laaksberg").

description

The city district has 17,571 inhabitants (as of May 1, 2010).

Like all of Lasnamäe, the image in the satellite town of Mustakivi is dominated by anonymous high-rises in Soviet panel construction . They were pounded out of the ground in the 1970s and 1980s. The majority of the population is Russian-speaking.

The Laagna tee , a six-lane expressway between Tallinn city center and Lasnamäe, ends in Mustakivi. The ten-kilometer-long city motorway was called the October Prospectus during the Soviet period . A planned high-speed railway line for a tram on the median was never realized.
