Nejc Pačnik (born October 28, 1990 in Slovenj Gradec , Slovenia ) is a Slovenian musician , music teacher and world champion on the Styrian harmonica .

Life

Nejc Pačnik was born on October 28, 1990 in Slovenj Gradec. He attended elementary school in his village Škale and in Velenje . He completed a five-year course at the wood technology school in Slovenj Gradec.

The accordion was given to him from birth because his grandfather played him numerous songs. Nejc showed great interest in the diatonic accordion as a 5-year-old boy.

Musical career

When he was barely five years old, he got his first teacher Tine Lesjak from Slovenia. After two years Nejc changed teachers and he began to expand his musical knowledge with Robert Goličnik. At the age of eight he made his debut at the Delčnjak memorial competition and emerged as the winner.

At the age of twelve he took part in a charity concert, where he saw the performance of world champion Robert Goter for the first time . Soon afterwards he attended master classes with Goter. In the same year he made his debut under the direction of Robert Goter at the National Accordion Competition Ljubečna Gold (National Competition of Slovenia), where he reached the semifinals.

With a lot of practice - even more than ten hours a day before major competitions - he achieved his greatest success in 2007. He became European champion in Attimis (Italy). At the beginning of his competitive career, he won the State Accordion Competition Ljubečna Gold in 2008. A year later he was again a prize winner.

After the Ljubečna Golden Accordion, he went to the World Championships, where he won 4th place in 2005 and the Vice World Championship title two years later. He became accordion junior world champion on the diatonic harmonica in Austria in 2009 and accordion world champion in 2015.
