Expovita
The Expovita ( proper spelling EXPOVITA ) was the central and most important sports and leisure exhibition in the GDR (including sample fair ). It has been offered annually at the Leipzig autumn fairs since 1969 . The name is an abbreviation consisting of a part of exposition ( Latin exhibition ) and / or export and Vita (Latin life ).

Coordinating and organizing center of the Expo Vita was the sports equipment Combine germina . As part of the Expovita, the range of services for sport and leisure from 22 branches of industry in the GDR was shown. Around 50 combines and 220 companies as well as foreign and domestic trade organs were represented on it. From 1969 to 1990 Wolfgang Neupert , the GERMINA combine director, was also director of the Expovita industry exhibition, which is important for the GDR in terms of foreign trade policy. It was based in Leipzig, Petersstrasse 39/41.
Every six months, the Expovita took place in Hall 18 at the Leipzig Autumn Fair , alternating with the electrical industry .

Trademark Association Expovita
Expovita was also a trademark association ( umbrella brand ) in the GDR.
Members were u. a .:
- Toy manufacturers such as B: VEB VERO Olbernhau, operation of VEB Kombinat Spielwaren Sonneberg;
- Union Außenhandelsgesellschaft mbH for metal goods and sporting goods, Berlin, Wilhelm-Külz-Straße 46 (export areas: export office for household goods, export office for large household appliances)
