EXpress edition
The Berlin publishing house EXpress-Edition was a special publisher that was founded in April 1979 by the graphic artist and photographer Horst Herkner in Berlin as a political gallery and publisher and published books on the subject of foreigners until the end of the 1980s. The focus was on issues related to immigration from Turkey.

The publisher published, among other things:
- Fiction (primarily written by migrants such as the novels by Saliha Scheinhardt or the first satirical volume by Osman Engin as well as translations from Turkey, Indonesia and India)
- migration studies
- School and textbooks (such as for intercultural music education)
- the publishing series "Ethnomedicine and Consciousness Research"
- the publication series of the "European Center for Community Education" (1986 to 1990)
- the culture-politically oriented, successful travel book series “Roter Rucksack”.

Other well-known authors of the publishing house were Pramoedya Ananta Toer , Levent Aktoprak , Stanislav Grof , Hanscarl Leuner , Christian Rätsch , Louis Lewin , Claudia Winterstein , Hüdai Ülker , Arne Heise , Hermann Schäfer and Kemal Kurt , Mahmut Makal .
In the 1980s, the publisher was particularly well-known among educators who worked with foreigners and among left-wing German reading audiences and among the intellectual immigrant scene.
