Course of the road
|
The Eagle Highway is an outback track in the center of the Australian state of Western Australia . It connects the Gary Highway south of Windy Corner with the Gunbarrel Highway southwest of Everard Junction
course
91 km south of Windy Corner , in the center of the Gibson Desert , the Eagle Highway branches off from the Gary Highway to the northwest. After 66 km of dead straight runway, the Eagle Dragon Airstrip , a small airfield, is reached. There the slope turns to the southwest and leads, just as dead straight, 27 km to Warri .
The former Aboriginal settlement leaves the Eagle Highway to the east, only to turn south shortly afterwards. After a further 132 km it joins the Gunbarrel Highway 85 km southwest of Everard Junction , in the Mungilli Claypan Nature Reserve , and ends.
From there to the south, David Carnegie Road is its continuation.
Road conditions
The entire length of the Eagle Highway is unpaved.
