from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

East of Eden was a sculpture exhibition in the park of the Museum Schloss Mosigkau in Dessau near Leipzig.

Venue

The Mosigkau castle is a rococo castle from the 18th century. It is located near Dessau in Saxony and is one of the last remaining Rococo ensembles in Central Germany.

Period

The exhibition took place from June 18, 1994 to September 18, 1994.

Content focus

“Beyond Eden addresses, among other things, a human dilemma: the deeply internalized idea of a place of perfect happiness on the one hand and the knowledge of one's own inadequacies on the other. [...] The participating artists have found various answers to what was given them. [...] The internationality in the composition of the artists opens up the future-oriented vision of a growing together of peoples. "
