Eastpak is an American manufacturer of textile products . Eastpak sells rucksacks , purses , clothing , bags and pencil cases , among other things .
history
The forerunner of the Eastpak brand was " Eastern Canvas Products ". This company was founded by Monte Goldman in 1960 to manufacture backpacks for military use. In 1976 Goldman began manufacturing backpacks and bags for the general consumer under the name "Eastpak".
In 2000, Eastpak, which had sales of around 90 million US dollars at the time (around 100 million euros at the exchange rate at the time), was acquired by VF Corporation . According to VF Corporation's annual report, Eastpak is the market leader in backpacks in Europe.

Eastpak grants a 30-year guarantee on its products (backpacks, bags, luggage) - with a few exceptions.
