Eberhard Bitzer

Eberhard Bitzer (born August 12, 1927 in Danzig ; † 1963 ) was a German journalist .

Life

Bitzer studied philosophy , history and economics at the universities in Frankfurt a. M. and Bonn . He received his doctorate with a critical thesis on "The Shifts of Accent in Hegel's State Thought . A Contribution to the History of the Development of Hegel's Legal and State Philosophy" After graduation, he worked as a political editor and editor-in-chief of a local newspaper in Hesse, Nassauer Bote, and undertook study trips to central Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Poland and America.

From March 1956 he was a member of the editorial board of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and mainly commented on domestic political events. His areas of expertise included politics in Germany, political parties, political public relations, electoral law and constitutional law issues, as well as air protection problems. He mainly edited the political part of page 2, especially the "Voices of Others" section . Since October 1959 Bitzer was a member of the Bonn editorial team of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
