Eberhard Schuppius

Eberhard Schuppius (born July 6, 1947 in Erfurt ) is a former German diplomat . From 2010 to 2012 he was most recently Consul General in Bordeaux .

Life

Eberhard Schuppius studied law at the universities of Kiel, Berlin and Paris. After joining the Foreign Service in 1975, he was Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to Yemen ( Sanaa ) from 1977 to 1981 and then from 1981 to 1984 Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to Guatemala .

After working at the Foreign Office in Bonn and the Embassy in Egypt , he was Deputy Head of a Department in the Foreign Office from 1990 to 1994. From 1994 to 1998 Eberhard Schuppius was permanent representative of the ambassador in Sweden and then until 2002 head of a department at the Foreign Office.

As the predecessor of Volkmar Wenzel , Schuppius was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Syria from 2002 to 2005 , until he moved to the German Embassy in Riga again as Ambassador . From 2008 to 2010 Eberhard Schuppius was Consul General in Guangzhou .

In 2010 Eberhard Schuppius became consul general at the German consulate in Bordeaux. In 2012 he retired; he was succeeded by Hans-Werner Bussmann.
