Echinopsis minuana is a species of the genus Echinopsis in the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Echinopsis minuana usually grows solitary and only occasionally branches from the base. The cylindrical shoots reach a diameter of 14 to 15 centimeters and a stature height of 50 to 80 centimeters. There are twelve straight ribs that are slightly wavy. The dark brown thorns are straight. The single, strong central spine, thickened at the base, is 5 to 6 centimeters long. The four to seven radial spines have a length of 2 to 3 centimeters.
The narrow, funnel-shaped, white flowers are open at night and are up to 20 centimeters long. The approximately spherical fruits are greenish red and reach a length of up to 4.5 centimeters.
Distribution and systematics
Echinopsis minuana is common in the northeast of Argentina .
The first description by Carlos Luis Spegazzini was published in 1905.
Roberto Kiesling treated Echinopsis minuana in 1999 as a synonym for Echinopsis rhodotricha .
