Echostar 16 (Echostar XVI) is a commercial communications satellite of the American Echostar Corporation .

It was launched into geostationary orbit from the Baikonur rocket launch site on November 20, 2012 at 18:31 UTC with a Proton-M / Bris-M launcher . The satellite was disconnected from the rocket nine hours and 12 minutes after launch.
