Eckehard Kölbel (born October 10, 1942 in Leutenberg ) is a German engineer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1961, Kölbel completed an apprenticeship as a surveyor. From 1963 to 1969 he studied geodesy at the Technical University of Dresden , passed the examination as a graduate engineer and worked from 1969 to 1974 as a special measuring squad leader and engineer in surveying. In 1975/76 he did military service with the NVA . After completing his postgraduate studies, he worked as a technologist and engineer in surveying from 1978 to 1990. Since November 2001 he has been chairman of the DRK district association Gera-Stadt.

Eckehard Kölbel is a Protestant, married and has two children.

Kölbel joined the Eastern CDU and was for a long time a member of the district committee of the CDU Gera-Stadt. From 1974 to 1977 he was city councilor and councilor for traffic and communications in the city ​​of Gera . After the political change in the GDR , he became a member of the all-German Christian Democrats in 1990. From 1990 to 2004 he was a member of the Thuringian Parliament . On August 24, 2004 he was again a Thuringian parliamentarian when he moved up to the state parliament for the retired deputy Johanna Arenhövel . He no longer applied for a mandate for the 2009 state elections .
