Eckehard Mayer

Eckehard Mayer (born June 20, 1946 in Hainsberg ) is a German composer .

life and work

Eckehard Mayer was a member of the Dresden Kreuzchor from 1957 to 1965 . He then studied music in Leipzig. From 1970 to 1982 he worked at various theaters as a repetitor and conductor (including Volkstheater Rostock , Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden ). From 1982 to 2011 he worked at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden as a composer, conductor and pianist, with interruptions as director of drama music. In 1976 and 1984 he received the Carl Maria von Weber Prize for Composition. Eckehard Mayer lives in Dresden and has also been a writer since 2002.

Writing activity

3 volumes of poetry, 2 diaries, 2 novels (2013 From now it's late ; 2016 The Proximity), 2 stories (2017 The Walk / To Rosmersholm) have been published by J a nos Stekovics.
