The Eckmann is a font that Otto Eckmann as a typographer developed 1899th It was brought out for the first time in 1900 by the Rudhard'schen Foundry (later Gebr. Klingspor ) in Offenbach am Main .

Based on Japanese calligraphy , Eckmann designed the font named after him with the help of a brush . He was a pioneer for a whole range of artists who were to design numerous other Art Nouveau printed fonts in the years to come.
