Economic Development and Cultural Change ( EDCC ) is a multidisciplinary scientific journal of economics and political science . The focus of the contributions is on development economics . Both theoretical and empirical works are published, but also replication studies .
The Journal has been published and published by the University of Chicago since 1952 . The founder of the journal is the Austrian-born economist Berthold Frank Hoselitz .

The editors of the EDCC is currently (2015) from the managing editor Marcel Fafchamps out. It still consists of 19 associate editors.

According to its own information, the EDCC had an impact factor of 0.868 in 2013 .
