Ed Nijpels
Eduardus Hermannus Theresia Maria (Ed) Nijpels (born April 1, 1950 in Den Helder ) is a Dutch politician . From 1999 to 2008 he was the Royal Commissioner in the province of Friesland .
Nijpels was chairman of the VVD parliamentary group , member of the Second Chamber, Minister for Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM) in the Lubbers II cabinet and co-moderator of the Aktua in bedrijf television program and mayor of the city of Breda .
In the 2003 film De Kameleon (The Chameleon), Nijpels portrayed a mayor. His son Boyan also plays a small role in this.
