Ed Rush

Ed Rush , civic Ben Settle , (* 1973 in London ) is a British drum-and-bass - DJ and - producer from London.

In the wake of the blossoming rave scene, he started his first hardcore productions in his studio on the Speicher in the early 1990s. He became known in the scene with the hardcore jungle hit Bludclot Artattack .

Producer Nico was among the first to offer Rush a platform to release his music. The first album ("Torque"), which appeared on No U Turn in 1996, was created in collaboration with DJs and producers Trace and Fierce . The modern tech step was born : "... massive walls made of distorted basslines with futuristic technoid sound samples, underlaid with the two-step drum pattern characteristic of this music."

He then released some 12-inches on various labels such as Goldies Metalheadz and Grooveriders Prototype.

Through Dominic Angas, better known as Dom & Roland , and his school friend Jamie Quinn (Matrix), the contact with his older brother Matt Quinn ( Optical ) comes about. Together they found Virus Recordings, on which the 1998 debut Wormhole appeared. The album even reached the Top 40 of the UK album charts and was named Best Artist Album 1999 at the "Annual Knowledge D&B Awards" of the English Knowledge Magazine .
