Edda Trocha b. Schmiedel (born September 8, 1949 in Buir , Bergheim (Erft) district ) is a former German athlete . who specialized in the long jump .

After the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , three long jumpers - Heide Rosendahl , Ingrid Mickler and Heidi Schüller - withdrew from active competition. This cleared the way for Edda Trocha. In 1973 she became German indoor champion with 6.26 m and then also won the open-air championships. With 6.43 m, which was also her personal best, she defeated Heide Rosendahl, who used the 1973 season to end her career. The following year, 6.34 m was enough for her to win the title a second time.

Edda Trocha had her only appearance on an international level at the European Indoor Championships in 1973 in Rotterdam . There she would have had to jump 6.16 m for a medal, but did not get over the 6 m mark and was seventh with 5.99 m, Bulgarian Diana Jorgowa won with 6.45 m. Her personal best was 6.46 m on June 8, 1976 in Düsseldorf.

In the 1990s, when she was already over 40, she appeared in senior competitions at the regional level.

Edda Trocha started for SG Düren 99 and for Dürener TV 1847 .
