Eddie Flashin 'Fowlkes (* 1962 ) is an American DJ . He started recording mixtapes when he was 14. He had his first booking as a DJ in 1981 at a campus party. He got his nickname from his mixing skills and scratches. At the time, Fowlkes was friends with Detroit legends such as Derrick May and Juan Atkins . He made his music debut in 1986 on the Metroplex label . He has also released on KMS Records , 430 West ("Inequality") and PIAS Recordings . The artist himself describes his music as "black technosoul", referring to his influences from deep house and soul .

From the 1990s he published on Jump Street, React Music, Peacefrog Records and the Berlin label Tresor Records .
