Eddie Hodges (born March 5, 1947 in Hattiesburg , Mississippi ) is an American former singer and actor.

Life

Eddie Hodges started his career in New York in 1953. First he appeared on television shows such as the Jackie Gleason Show . After winning $ 25,000 on the name that tune guess show , his popularity grew significantly, and he was given the role of son of Frank Sinatra in the 1959 film One Size Too Big . A number of film roles followed, for example as Huckleberry Finn in Michael Curtiz 'literary adaptation Adventure on the Mississippi (1960) and as the son of Henry Fonda in Storm over Washington (1962). Hodges was considered a teenage idol for several years , which the record industry also recognized. In the years 1961 to 1965, Hodges was able to land several hits in both the US and UK charts. His most successful song was I'm Gonna Knock on Your Door from 1961, which made it to number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 .

In the late 1960s, Hodges served as a soldier in the Vietnam War . He then did not return to Hollywood, but studied psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi . He worked in this field until his retirement a few years ago. He is divorced and has two children.
