Eddie Hopson (* the 30th June 1971 in Saint Louis , Missouri , USA as Edward Lamar Hopson ) is a retired American boxer and southpaw .
amateur
Among the amateurs, Hopson won the gold medal at the Golden Gloves in the featherweight division in 1988 .
professional
He was unbeaten (25-0-0) when he in April 1995 the Colombian Moises Pedroza in the 7th round hard ko struck and thus of the Association for the vacant world championship belt IBF conquered. However, he lost it on July 9 of the same year against Tracy Harris Patterson by TKo in the 2nd round.
In 1999 he ended his career.
