Eddy de Pretto (born May 2, 1993 in Créteil ) is a French singer and actor .

Life

De Pretto grew up in the Parisian Banlieue Créteil . In his youth he played theater before he got into music. As an adult, he eventually moved to Paris . He worked as an actor for TV commercials and he was involved in the short film Vivre sa vie in 2013 .

In 2017 he took part in the Printemps de Bourges music festival, where he won the Inouïs Newcomer Prize . In October 2017 he released his debut EP Kid with four titles. His first album Cure followed in March 2018 .

style

The songs on his debut EP Kid have been described as a mix of traditional chanson and hip-hop . During his live performances he was only accompanied by a drummer. The songs in the EP deal with subjects such as pressure to appear masculine, homophobic violence and the difficulty of finding one's identity. His music has also been compared several times with Stromae . De Pretto himself also gives musicians such as Frank Ocean , Claude Nougaro and Booba as inspiration.
