The barons of Edelbeck were a Lower Bavarian noble family with their headquarters in Untergrasensee , today a district of the town of Pfarrkirchen .

Some descendants also lived in Austria in the 14th and 15th centuries , using the spellings Edelbeckh , Edelpeckh zu Harraß , Ebenpeckh and Oed (e) lnpeckh . This Austrian branch of the family was first recorded in 1381 with Martin Oedlnpeck and died out with Georg Edelpeck zu Harraß († September 28, 1522 in Vienna ). This family wore a different shield (four-field, with an armored arm turned inwards with a tournament sword, helmet with this between two red and white striped buffalo horns, helmet cover red and white) than the Lower Bavarian Edelbeck (coat of arms with a travel bottle with three openings, helmet the same , in the middle three feathers).

Kaspar Edelbeck buys Prausnitz Castle in 1416 . In 1606 Hans Jacob Edelbeck, district judge of Landau, acquired the Obergrasensee fief. After his death this passed to his son Georg Adam precious Beck, later nurses to winemakers about. As early as 1423 the Edelbeck had acquired the seat at Untergrasensee from Beatrix von Camer zu Münchshof. The Höhenberg seat was bought by Georg Adam von Edelbeck in 1643. Joseph Franz Edelbeck zu Ebersdorf was elevated to the status of imperial baron on September 9, 1695. Later the Höhenberg headquarters, as well as Unter- and Obergransee, passed to the Counts of Baumgarten. Maria Theodora Freiin von Edelbeck on Gransee became abbess of the Cistercian monastery Seligenthal on November 26th, 1748 .

With Joseph Aloysius Fransicus Freiherr von Edelbeck (* September 7, 1691, † January 26, 1770), Canon in Freising and Knight of the Order of St. George , the family died out as the last descendants. According to Siebmacher, his death date of 1730, which is sometimes given, does not seem to be correct, as he did not sell the Hofmark Obergransee until November 24, 1745 to Carl Sebastian Graf von Baumgarten. His tomb and that of his ancestor Johann Martin von Edelbeck von Schönau , Unter- and Niedergransee zu Höchberg († 1682), married to Johanna Catharina Freiin von Giech , are still preserved in the parish church of the parish church.
