history

The old part of the castle was probably built by the Perghofer family in the 15th century. In 1533 the castle was acquired by the Edelbeck family. Due to the marriage of Barbara Katharina Edelbeck to Georg Sigmund Riederer von Paar, the property became the property of the Riederer von Paar family on September 24, 1670 , where it is still located today.

garden

Carl von Effner , the Royal Bavarian Court Garden Director , was commissioned to design the park in 1867. The model for the design of the park was the English Garden in Munich . Originally the facility was only half as big as it is today, but under Effner it was expanded again and again until it almost reached today's size.

When the palace was rebuilt by the architect Gabriel von Seidl in 1899–1900 , the park was also expanded and the previously square park pond was given its current curved shape.

In addition to native tree species, exotic species such as sugar maples , Japanese larches , magnolias , plane trees and bald cypresses were also planted.

The park has been open to the public since the 1930s.
