The noble seat Edlau was in the district of the same name in the municipality of Lasberg in the district of Freistadt (Edlau 1).

history

It was first mentioned in 1322 when Friedrich the Piber sold the "half Haws dacz Edlaw" to his brother-in-law Peter the Piber and his housewife Berchta on Weinberg. The Piber's successors were the Frodnachers, with the noble seat already being mentioned as a sovereign fiefdom of Heinrich Frodnacher in 1418 . The Steinpeckh followed the Frodnachers. After the death of Wolfgang Steinpeckh, Edlau was drafted by the sovereign Emperor Maximilian I and in 1518 he was given to his secretary Leonhard Kuttenfelder and his valet Martin Petrodt. In 1525 they sold Edlau to Veit von Zelking , who beat Edlau to the estate of Schloss Weinberg . The seat was then assigned as a subject house and run as a farm.

Edlau today

In the 70s of the last century, the tower-like, brick floor, which had the unmistakable characteristics of a permanent house , stood next to the former farm . At that time the stick was also surrounded by a ditch. Until the fire in 1981 there was a large and a small stick. There were two Gothic doors inside. The toe box was even used as a grain box . A small barred window led to a prison room.

After the fire in 1981, the brick towers were torn down so that nothing of the noble seat has survived. West of the stick were two fish ponds, one of which still exists. It is uncertain whether the facility under construction below the Wurm property is based on the walls of the noble residence. Today the farm is owned by the Wurm family.
