Eden (stylized self-spelling in capital letters: EDEN ; also known as: EDEN family ) is an evangelical Christian choir of all ages under the direction of Gertrud and Dirk Schmalenbach .
history
Eden emerged from the children's music work Eden Kids around Gertrud and Dirk Schmalenbach . When the first generation of the children's choir grew out of it, an age-independent group of children, adolescents and adults formed. The choir released its first album in September 1999, a Christmas concept under the title Peace on Earth . Further projects followed, such as a concept album for seniors with Herbsttöne in 2000 , an album with Folksongs in 2002 with Geh aus, mein Herz and again a Christmas album with the title Der Himmel auf Erden in 2007 , as well as two conceptless albums, specifically Ins Licht (2000) and What stays (2003) as well as various musicals. In 2010 the first album was released under EDEN family with the title Pay attention, we're coming!
In May 1999, Eden won first place in the nationwide choir competition announced by Hans W. Geißendörfer for the melody of the television series Lindenstrasse . The choir performed in collaboration with the organist Franz Lambert . For example, in 2005 at the Hessentag in Weilburg , where he premiered the VdK anthem , the text of which was written by the choir director Gertrud Schmalenbach and music by Franz Lambert, and for the 30th anniversary of Europa-Park . In March 2007, Eden won the casting in Hesse for the superstar of folk music in Frankfurt . In 2010 the choir produced a program under its new name on NDR .
