Edenserloog Castle

Edenserloog is next to Werdum and guest team is one of three districts of Werdum , a municipality in the Samtgemeinde Esens in the East Frisian district Wittmund , Lower Saxony .

The village emerged from Edenserloog Castle . It was first mentioned in 1491 as Edelens . Later names are enser Loech (1684) and Edelserloog or Edenserloog (1824). The place name is a combination of the nickname Eddelt and that with the old Frisian collective suffix -ingi , to which the ending Loog for village was added later . In 1823 there were 133 residents in Edenserloog, spread over 35 fire places. In 1848 there were four farms with 33 inhabitants in the village.
