Edgar Batt (born February 20, 1909 in Bradford , † February 18, 1969 ) was an English football player .
Career
Batt showed promising investments during his school years as a player at Carlton Street Secondary School and was brought up to the Football League Third Division North from Bradford Park Avenue in July 1926 after conspicuous performances for the Boothtown amateur club . There he made his debut as an amateur on December 4, 1926 in a 2-1 win against Tranmere Rovers , after another use a week later against Durham City - in which he contributed with one goal to a 3-0 victory had - he received a professional contract in mid-December and also scored in the following two games against Accrington Stanley (3: 2) and the Doncaster Rovers (7: 3).
With his fifth mission on New Year's Day 1927, which was also victorious (2-1 against Wigan Borough ), Batts series ended and at the same time with five wins in five games, his career in the Football League . Batt had in all five games with center forward Ken McDonald , who scored in all five games and scored 8 of his 39 goals this season, and George McLean formed the inner storm trio. As a result, Martin Johnson again took over the position of the left forward striker.
There are different versions of the continuation of his football career: he is said to have either moved on to third division competitor Doncaster Rovers as early as 1927 and remained there without commitment or to have joined Morecambe FC in the Lancashire Combination in 1928 .
