Edgar Forschbach

Edgar Forschbach (born February 19, 1938 ; † September 5, 2003 in Brühl ) was a German mathematician and physicist . He was one of the pioneers of modern science journalism on the radio.

Life

Forschbach studied mathematics and physics in Freiburg. For almost 25 years he was head of the science department at Deutschlandfunk in Cologne and the initiator of the science program “ Research News ”.

Edgar Forschbach was a member of the jury for the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize and a longstanding board member of the Science Press Conference (WPK) ; In 2004 he was made an honorary member posthumously.

Since 1957 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Ripuaria Freiburg im Breisgau in the Cartellverband (CV) .
