Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism
The Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism is a German journalism prize .
The award was established in 1995 by the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the “ Scientific American ” magazine , one of the oldest and most respected popular science magazines worldwide .
The award, which takes place annually, honors outstanding achievements by German-speaking journalists in the field of science journalism , particularly in the fields of natural sciences, technology and medicine. There are two prizes (print and electronic media), each worth 5000 euros. Since 2012, a young talent award of 2500 euros has been awarded to applicants who are under 30 years of age.
On the occasion of the award ceremony, a high-level panel discussion on a current scientific topic is held.
