Ralf Krauter

Ralf Krauter (* 1972 in Esslingen ) is a German physicist , science journalist and radio presenter on the subjects of physics, technology and research policy.

Life

Krauter studied physics in Stuttgart, Freiburg and Brighton. After completing his physics diploma, he began a science journalistic traineeship at Deutschlandfunk and in 2004 became a freelance journalist for Deutschlandradio, ARD and newspapers. He also gave seminars as a media trainer . Since 2013 he has been the editor and presenter of the program “ Forschung Aktuell ” on Deutschlandfunk. He is involved in over 40 programs for its issue on public holidays, Science in Focus .

Awards

2005: Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism for "Beautifully calculated - The life lie of clinical research" and "Milestones to myth: How Albert Einstein went from scientist to world star"
2006: Aerospace Media Prize and Ludwig Bölkow Journalist Prize for the feature "Flying like a bird: kite makers make Otto Lilienthal's dream come true"
2010: Journalist Prize for Computer Science of the Saarland for "Calculating with Qubits: The Computers of the Future Are Taking Shape"
2011: Conrad Matschoß Prize for the history of technology
