Volkart Wildermuth

Volkart Wildermuth (* 1962 ) is a German biochemist , science journalist and moderator . His main focus is medicine , genetic engineering , brain research , evolution . He is known from the German radio program Research Current and its holiday edition Science in Focus , of which he is the author of over 50 programs.

Life

He studied biochemistry in Tübingen and Berlin and also worked as a reporter for Südwestfunk. After graduating, he became a journalist and volunteered at Westdeutscher Rundfunk ( WDR ) in 1991 and 1992 . Then he reported as a freelance writer from Berlin. Since 1996, his contributions have focused on scientific topics that are broadcast regularly on Deutschlandfunk and ARD and occasionally on Swiss, Austrian and Australian radio. He moderates discussions on research topics and trains scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich to make them fit for the media. He is on the jury that awards the media prize of the German Diabetes Society (DDG).
