Journalist award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Journalist Awards are awards for excellent journalistic (sectoral) work in the period covered by the advertisement, which usually spans one or two years.

In the German-speaking world, journalist awards do not play the prominent role that the Pulitzer Prize , for example, has in the USA. There are currently 521 journalist awards in Germany.

Others

Journalist prizes not yet established for German-speaking journalists

The following journalist prizes have not yet been established, i.e. the first award was less than five years ago, or they have not yet been awarded at least three times.

Young talent and sponsorship awards for German-speaking journalists

The following journalist prizes are aimed at young journalists right down to editors of school newspapers; However, the upper age limit is usually 35 years. In the case of sponsorship awards, in addition to the worthiness of the award winner  , the focus is often on the financing of a further training level - for example a stay abroad or a traineeship . Therefore, prizes for young talents and sponsors cannot be compared with the generally accessible prices and are listed separately here.

Criticism of journalist awards

In addition to the journalist prizes mentioned above, there are a large number of other journalist prizes that are advertised by companies or associations (see also the BDZV link below ). These are often public relations instruments with the help of which the advertiser intends to attract the attention of journalists, to promote the media presence of a certain topic or to pursue other PR goals.
