Prix du Champagne Lanson

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Prix du Champagne Lanson was a competition for German-speaking wine journalists. It was held from 2001 to 2008 and hosted by the champagne manufacturer Lanson (founded in 1760) from Reims .

The prize was endowed with 2001 euros in the first year. This sum has increased by one euro per year since then. In 2007, the sum was doubled, with half going to a charitable institution determined by the respective winner.

The independent jury was made up of experts from various sectors of the wine industry (author, publisher, wine merchant, winemaker, specialist teacher, etc.). The evaluation of the submitted work was based on the criteria of “comprehensibility of the presentation of the material”, “journalistic form” and “originality and creativity”. The competition, which was originally limited to print media , had been open to all forms of online journalism since 2007 and from 2008 the prize was awarded in two categories: consumer magazines and specialist publications, which also included online media and newspapers.

The prize was awarded for the last time in 2008.
