Margrit Sprecher (* 1936 in Chur ) is a Swiss journalist , reporter and author .

Life

Margrit Sprecher was born in Chur in 1936 and grew up there. After graduating from school, she trained as an interpreter . Her first journalistic position was the women's magazine Elle , where she stayed for 15 years. After a stopover at what was then Jean Frey-Verlag, for which she wrote at Züri Leu (later Züri-Woche ), she switched to Weltwoche in 1983 .

The spokesperson became Weltwoche editor with the task of building up a women's department, which is now the society department . She was best known for her court and social reports and stayed with Weltwoche until she retired in 2003.

Since then, Margrit Sprecher has been working as a freelance journalist for NZZ , Das Magazin , Weltwoche, Reportagen and GEO . She is co- editor of the journal Schweizer Journalist , works in journalism training and is a member of the jury for journalistic prizes . She is widowed and lives in Zurich .
