Reportagen is a bimonthly print medium that maintains classic literary text reporting.

concept

Reportagen magazine, published for the first time in October 2011, appears in the DIN A5 format - which is usual for books - and completely dispenses with photo series. Its sturdy linen cover (wrapped cardboard) and the striking typographical design, developed by the Zurich graphic collective Moiré, give reports the appearance of a book, while the bimonthly frequency of publication and the distribution in magazine sales (in Germany: train station bookshops ) are features of a magazine.

In terms of content, the editorial staff maintains classic text reports in the Hemingway or Kisch style . The reports have a subjective language. A separate language coloring based on the reporter's experiences is part of the concept.

Authors

The aim of reports is to offer both journalists and writers the opportunity to publish true stories in a stylistically superior form. So far wrote for reports :

Violation of journalistic standards

In 2015, the reports gave Tom Kummer a chance to use his journalistic skills again after his media scandal in 2000. Kummer doesn't use them, in 2016 it was noticed that he had incorporated several sentences and text sections into his articles in the magazine Reportagen and in Weltwoche , which came from articles in Spiegel , in der Zeit , the Süddeutsche Zeitung , Wikipedia and other places.

Between 2013 and 2016, the reports printed five articles by Claas Relotius , who in 2018 was proven to have systematically invented observations, statements and encounters. As far as is known, none of the reports published in reports were entirely based on inventions. As usual with Relotius, he had embellished and condensed real events.
