Karl Buchrucker Prize

The Karl Buchrucker Prize has been awarded annually by the Inner Mission Munich since 2001 for publications that deal in a special way with social and diaconal issues.

The aim of the Karl Buchrucker Prize is to promote the importance of social and diaconal work in public. Therefore, the Innere Mission awards this prize to publications that deal with social and diaconal issues or stimulate their discussion and have a Munich connection. The prize is endowed with a total of 11,000 euros annually.

The jury consists of well-known experts from the fields of journalism, art, church and media. The award ceremony takes place in March of each year to commemorate the founding of the Inner Mission Munich on March 23, 1884.

Namesake

The award is named after the Lutheran theologian Karl Buchrucker , who founded the Inner Mission in Munich in 1884.
