Susanne Kellermann (born April 19, 1974 in Landshut ) is a German camerawoman , director , producer and actress .

Life

Origin and education

Susanne Kellermann was born in Landshut and graduated from the Hans-Carossa-Gymnasium Landshut . Her great-great-uncle is the writer Bernhard Kellermann . At the age of 18, together with a team of friends, she received the Bavarian Youth Film Prize from the “Youth / Film / Television” institute for the documentary “Tinnitus - In Search of Lost Silence”. As a pianist, she already took part in concerts during her school days. a. in the play "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" by Bertolt Brecht, in which she was the overall musical director.

Movie and TV

After graduating from high school, Susanne Kellermann entered the professional film business. As a camera assistant, she made around 50 films. At the same time, she was already leading the camera in several short films . The children's film "Merle" has been shown at over 15 national and international short film festivals since 2002, has been broadcast several times on arte , Bayerischer Rundfunk and KiKa and received the young talent award at the German Children's Film Festival Goldener Spatz 2003. She also composed for the short film "Blut" piano music for her camera work and played live to the film in the old silent film manner. At the age of 26 she was accepted as the youngest Director of Photography of all time in the Bundesverband Kamera bvk. She turned u. a. the white-blue winter stories , "Kleine Rache" and "once too much" directed by Peter Weck and the Die Rosenheim-Cops .

At the age of 28, she completed an acting training in Vienna , which she successfully completed with the diploma as a state-recognized stage actress from the joint examination committee of the Austrian Theater Association. She received a lead episode role in the series The Rosenheim Cops and several supporting roles in TV films. She produced the short film "We are all naked underneath" and played the leading role in it. The film was shown at 10 national and international film festivals and received a. a. the Prix 2nd des Festival International des Films Courts in Brest. It was broadcast on ARTE , BR and SWR . In 2009 the film “Puppenspiel” was made under her direction and camera work, which was awarded the title “Particularly Valuable” by FBW in 2010 and the “Grand Prix” for “Best Director” at the European Independent Film Festival in Paris in 2011 and at Canada International Film Festival received the "Royal Reel Award".

In 2011 she also shot the film "The Time Between" as a producer, camerawoman and director. The film was broadcast in the ARD theme week “How we want to die”, received the rating “particularly valuable” from the German film and media rating FBW and was voted film of the month for October 2011 there. In addition, the film was honored with the Karl Buchrucker Prize of the Inner Mission Munich . In the same year she shot the 90-minute TV film "Everything but Love" with Gila von Weitershausen as camerawoman.

Susanne Kellermann has a daughter with Fritz Wepper , with whom she was in a relationship from 2009 to 2012 and who lived together in Munich.
