Canada International Film Festival
The Canada International Film Festival is an annual film festival . The eleventh edition of the festival took place in March 2017, with prizes being awarded in several categories. Films from 90 countries have already been shown at the festival. The current director of the festival is Monty Lapca . The motto of the event is "Come, celebrate and share your passion for films!"
Event
The festival was held for the first time in 2007 on the initiative of the businessman Rick Weisner. From 2009 to 2016 it took place at Edgewater Casino in downtown Vancouver . The eleventh edition of the Canada International Film Festival in 2017 brought a big change: The films were only presented digitally and the winners were announced on the host's website .
The Canada International Film Festival is one of the largest of its kind in Canada.
Prizes and winners
A number of awards are presented annually at the Canada Film Festival. A jury made up of selected experts from the film and television industry will decide on the winner in each category .
