Richard James Cosnett (born April 6, 1983 in Australia ) is an Australian actor .

Life

Rick Cosnett was born in April 1983. After giving birth, he moved to Zimbabwe with his family . He later returned to Australia and attended school there. His great-grandfather was the head of the Royal School of Music . He has two sisters and is a cousin of Hugh Grant .

After school he studied Acting at QUT at the BFA . He gained his first acting experience in the theater before he got a supporting role in the television series Headland in 2005 . This was followed by a guest role in East West 101 . In 2008 he became known to a wider audience through the role of Will Tullman in the miniseries The Trojan Horse . Between 2008 and 2009 he took part in the Australian reality show The New Inventors . After that he was seen in a few short films.

In 2013 he was able to play a supporting role in the American mystery television series Vampire Diaries as Dr. Back up Wes Maxfield . In 2014, Cosnett was hired for the role of Eddie Thawne, known from DC Comics, in the superhero series The Flash on the US broadcaster The CW , in which he was seen from October 2014 to May 2015 and had a guest appearance in 2016 and 2017. From 2015 to 2016 he could be seen as Elias Harper in the series Quantico . In February 2020, Cosnett came out as gay.
