Linus Reichlin (born June 9, 1957 in Aarau ) is a Swiss writer and columnist.

Life

Reichlin began writing reports and essays in 1985 . From 1997 he became known to a wider audience through his literary-satirical columns , especially with Moskito in Weltwoche (from 1998 to 2002). Since 2007 he has been working as a freelance writer; he has since published several novels. His series about the retired Belgian ex-police officer Hannes Jensen revolves - similar to the southern detective novels by Friedrich Ani - more about psychology than about bloody deeds and, moreover, gets by without professional investigators. Both The Longing of the Atoms and The Star Assistant were on the KrimiWelt best list for months. The German Crime Prize 2009 attracted broad reader interest.

In 2011 Reichlin was one of the competitors for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize , but he did not win any prize there. His novel The Shine in the Distance (2012) takes the war reporter Moritz Martens to Afghanistan through personal borderline experiences.

Linus Reichlin lives in Berlin .
