The Wien Holding GmbH is one of the pillars of the economic activity of the Viennese city administration next to the City of Vienna with its enterprises and next to the Wiener Stadtwerke Holding AG . It is owned by the City of Vienna . The managing directors are Sigrid Oblak and Kurt Gollowitzer, the political supervision lies with Finance and Economic City Councilor Peter Hanke ( SPÖ ).
In the holding company organized under private law were combined. B. Gesiba founded in 1921 or the Wiener Messe founded in the same year , have often been wholly or partially owned by the City of Vienna for decades.
The holding company holds shares in real estate and is active in culture, leisure and event management, among other things: It owns several museums and theaters. The logistics division includes the Vienna ports, which with an area of 3.5 million square meters are one of the largest freight transport centers in Austria. Today, Wien Holding companies include:

In 2002 Peter Hanke was appointed one of two managing directors, and in 2009 Sigrid Oblak became the second managing director of Wien Holding alongside him. When Hanke moved to the state government and Ludwig City Senate in May 2018, authorized signatory Doris Rechberg-Missbichler took over Hanke's agendas as interim managing director of Wien Holding. As of September 1, 2018, Kurt Gollowitzer, the previous managing director of the Stadthalle Wien , will succeed Wien Holding as managing director for the areas of finance and investment controlling, accounting, corporate communications and project management as well as for companies in the business areas of culture and logistics. Sigrid Oblak was confirmed in her function as managing director.
