Father Wolfgang Seibel Prize

The Pater Wolfgang Seibel Prize for young journalists has been awarded since 2004 by the Friends of the Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists (Fifp). The journalist award is named after the founder and long-time director of the Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists (ifp) in Munich, P. Dr. Wolfgang Seibel SJ. The prize is awarded in two categories: "Print" and "Radio / TV". The Pater Wolfgang Seibel Prize is endowed with a total of 3,000 euros (as of 2018).

The Pater Wolfgang Seibel Prize was awarded annually from 2004 to 2006 and every two years since 2006.

An independent jury will decide on the award of the prize. The jury for the “Print” category includes Klaus Brinkbäumer ( Der Spiegel , New York), Reinhard Urschel ( Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung , Berlin) and Martin Zips ( Süddeutsche Zeitung , Munich), and for the “Radio / Television” category, Bettina Schausten ( ZDF , Mainz), Werner Dieste ( MDR , Erfurt) and Axel Buchholz (formerly SR, Saarbrücken).
