Werner Dieste

Werner Dieste (born April 27, 1957 in Anröchte ) was director of the Thuringia State Broadcasting House of Central German Broadcasting (MDR) in Erfurt from October 2001 to the beginning of 2016 .

Life

After studying to become a teacher, Dieste worked from 1984 to 1990 as assistant to the managing director at the " Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists" (ifp) in Munich and later as head of studies for the journalist training program. At the same time he worked as a freelancer for various newspapers and magazines. In 1990 and 1991 he worked as the editor-in-chief of Kip-NRW ("Church in Private Radio - Framework Program North Rhine-Westphalia") in Essen. Dieste has been a member of the MDR since December 1991. Until 1998, initially as head of the Wort department at the Thuringia regional radio station in Weimar , then from 1999 to 2001 as head of the MDR-BildungsCentrum in Leipzig . From October 2001 he headed the MDR state broadcasting center in Thuringia. In this role he was replaced by Boris Lochthofen at the beginning of 2016 .

Werner Dieste is a member of the jury for the Pater Wolfgang Seibel Prize and the Catholic Media Prize .
