Konrad Duden Journalism Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Konrad-Duden-Journalistenpreis is an award for young journalists.

Since 2012 it has been awarded every two years by the Niederrhein Press Club , Dudenverlag and the city of Wesel , the birthplace of Konrad Dudens . The prize honors articles by journalists from the fields of print, online, television or radio who stand out for their exceptional command of the language. It is endowed with a total of 3500 euros for three winners. The jury consists of the editors-in-chief of the Rheinische Post and the NRZ , the director of the Konrad-Duden-Gymnasium in Wesel and the mayor of the city.

The award winner Claas Relotius returned his award in December 2018. He had previously admitted falsifications in his articles, including the one for which he had received the award. The article was also awarded the German Reporter Prize.
