Consumer Journalist Award

The consumer journalist award is a journalist award that has been awarded by the brand association since 2010 . It was under the patronage of former Federal President Roman Herzog , the idea generator and initiator is Julia Klöckner .

The winners are honored for special achievements in consumer information with articles in print media , since 2015 also in a category for broadcasting , which explain complex issues to consumers in a comprehensible way and convey knowledge bases.

In this way, consumers should be made responsible and supported in their decisions. The award winners should have explained complex issues of everyday relevance from the consumer's point of view in a comprehensive and easily understandable manner. After thorough research, particularly comprehensible, brief and original representations should have been offered, which were also well prepared graphically.

Until 2013, the prize was endowed with a total of 17,500 euros, with 10,000 euros for the first prize, 5000 for the second prize and 2500 euros for the third prize. Since 2015, two winners with 10,000 euros each have been considered.
