Marlies Hesse Young Talent Award
The Marlies Hesse Young Talent Award , JB Young Talent Award Other Words - New Tones until 2012 , has been awarded by the Association of Journalists since 2002 . It was donated by the journalist Marlies Hesse . In her honor, it was renamed the Marlies Hesse Young Talent Award in 2013 on the 25th anniversary of the Association of Women Journalists. The prize is endowed with 1,000 euros.

The young talent award is intended to serve as both an incentive and recognition, especially for young women who report on men and women outside the usual role clichés, who present their living conditions and interests precisely and sensitively, and who represent a less common, possibly controversial or even outrageous opinion on the relationship between the sexes .
Award
Journalists can either apply themselves or be suggested by third parties. The prize is to be awarded to young female journalists up to the age of 35 who implement the concept of gender democracy in their work in a sophisticated and innovative way. The reference date for the age limit is March 1st of the award year. The award takes place during the annual conference of the female journalists' union. In 2016, a special prize was awarded as the 2nd prize with a value of 500 euros. In 2017, a special prize of unknown funding was awarded for an overall performance, but not the main prize for an individual performance.
Rotation
The announcement for the award takes place annually. Until 2017, the award was advertised alternately for the media of television , film , radio and print ; 2013 for the first time for online contributions. The announcement has been made for all media since 2018.
