Hartmut Wewetzer

Hartmut Wewetzer (* 1961 in Salzgitter ) is a German journalist and author.

Life

Wewetzer studied medicine in Berlin . His dissertation deals with the late potentials of heart attacks. From 1995 to 2017 he headed the science department of the newspaper Der Tagesspiegel . He is the press spokesman for the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). Wewetzer lives in Berlin.

Publications

He published the book The Broccoli Factor: ... and other good news from medicine ( Ullstein ) with columns from the Tagesspiegel .

Prizes and awards

In 1998 he received 2nd place at the Georg von Holtzbrinck Prize for Science Journalism . In April 2008, Wewetzer won the journalism award of the German Society for Cardiology .
