Career

The career of the young footballer Edgar Nobs began at SuS Northeim. In 1969, in April, he made two appearances in the DFB's national student team in international matches against England. Nobs already played in the youth of Hamburger SV before making his first appearance in the Bundesliga . He made his debut on the third day of the 1972/73 season . In the 2-1 defeat, he played 90 minutes. He then played four more games in the upper house of German football. In 1973 he moved to VfL Osnabrück . With Osnabrück he played in the Regionalliga Nord . Here promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga was achieved. Behind Eintracht Braunschweig and FC St. Pauli came third in the final table of the 1973/74 season . Nobs returned to HSV after one season and did not get a chance. So he moved to SV Atlas Delmenhorst . Together with Heiner Radbruch, who also came from HSV, Delmenhorst made it through to the top division. Even before the “Atlas Express” was stopped, Nobs moved to VfL Wolfsburg after 47 league appearances with five goals . At VfL he played until 1983 and expanded his appearances in the Oberliga Nord to a total of 134 games with 15 goals.
