Edgar Wetter (born September 29, 1931 ) is a former German soccer player. In the 1950s he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football , for the BSG Lokomotive Stendal .

Athletic career

In the 1953/54 season Edgar Wetter was part of the league squad of the company sports community (BSG) Lok Stendal for the first time . However, he was only used in two league games, where he was once in the starting line-up and once came on in the 78th minute. At the end of the season Lok Stendal had to relegate and played in the second-class GDR league in 1954/55 . The immediate resurgence succeeded, in which Wetter was involved as a striker with nine stakes and two games in the promotion round. In the fall of 1955, a transition round was held in GDR football, since from 1956 it was played every calendar year. In the Oberliga 13 games were played, five of which Wetter played. After he had come only to a 35-minute league assignment as a substitute in 1956, he no longer appeared in the squad of the league team in the coming three seasons. When Lok Stendal was relegated again in 1959, the 28-year-old bettor was reactivated again for the GDR league season in 1960 and was used in three point games. He had only a marginal share in the recovery and then no longer appeared in higher-class football.
